This work is currently on display at Grace Cossington Smith Gallery in Wahroonga, Sydney as part of the Lifeblood Exhibition, which runs October 6th-27th. It is available for purchase through the gallery.
process
For this work I used 23 different shades of reds and oranges in acrylic paint on canvas. There are two layers on top of the base red colour. The first layer is a pattern of quadrilaterals in 11 shades of pink and red through crimson. The top layer is a different pattern in 11 shades of peach and orange to vermillion. I used a lot of pyrolle red and pyrolle orange in the colour mixes in this piece.
